The paper will concentrate on the Trier’s filmic compositions and how they have affected audiences worldwide. Examples will show how Trier’s focus on haptic details at the surface of the image creates physical forms of affective involvement. Trier has experimented with various media-form to create macro- or micro-perceptible shocks that has furthered new questions on ethics in relation to sense and perception.
