The Department of Language and Literature offers a full time 3-year PhD position as part of the “Revolutionary Opéra-Comique” project, funded by the Research Council of Norway (NFR). This is a fully funded opportunity to complete a PhD on French eighteenth-century culture.

The PhD position is part of a larger research project that explores the genre of opéra-comique during the French Revolution. The successful applicant will hold a Master’s degree or equivalent academic qualification in French or Comparative Literature or Music, or in a related discipline, with a specialization relevant to the project, for instance in eighteenth-century French literature or music. The successful applicant must be comfortable with working with French source material.
